ABOUT ACCREDITATION

ECoSS Engineering Registration & Licensing System

The Engineering Council of South Sudan (ECoSS) is implementing a digital platform to support engineer registration, licensing, accreditation processes, and professional records management integrated with the EAC MRA digital platform.

Key System Functions

The platform digitalizes accreditation, registration, and licensing processes while improving efficiency, transparency, and regional professional mobility.

  • Online submission of engineer registration applications.
  • Digital processing of licensing and renewal procedures.
  • Management of application reviews and technical evaluations.
  • Support for interviews and approval workflows by ECoSS.
  • Maintenance of official licensed engineers digital registry.
  • Integration with EAC MRA regional digital platform systems.

Guidelines to COD Accreditation

The Committee on Accreditation (COD) is the designated body within ECoSS responsible for evaluating and accrediting engineering education programs offered by universities and higher education institutions in South Sudan.

Standards for Engineering Program Accreditation

ECoSS through the COD ensures that engineering programs meet national and EAC MRA standards, enabling graduates to qualify for professional registration and regional recognition.

Key Accreditation Criteria:

Institutions are evaluated against established standards to ensure program quality, faculty competence, and graduate readiness for professional engineering practice.

  • Program curriculum alignment with national and EAC MRA standards
  • Qualified faculty with recognized engineering credentials
  • Adequate laboratory infrastructure and learning resources
  • Robust student assessment and graduate outcome tracking
  • Active industry linkages and professional practice exposure

Approved CPD Course

ECoSS supports Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure engineers maintain professional competence. CPD evidence is required during annual license renewal through the digital platform.

Reviewed Engineering Courses

The Engineering Council of South Sudan (ECoSS) publishes system updates, regulatory notices, and platform announcements related to engineer registration, licensing, and CPD compliance to keep stakeholders informed about key changes and requirements.
